Czech Rail Strike

June 2008.

The unions want the government to reassess its planned reforms of the public budgets and pension systems, and to discuss the development of taxes and changes in the Labour Code with them.

During the planned strike, public transport will stop in many regional centres, including Prague.

The OSZ has organised the biggest strike in modern Czech history. In February 1997, transport stopped for five days and about half of Czech Rail (CD) employees joined the protest, Railway Market-CEE Review reports.
