Germany: DB to lower CO2 emissions by 20% by 2020

July 2008.

The German railway company Deutsche Bahn (DB) has plans for lowering carbon emissions by 20% between 2006 and 2020. The plans were announced as DB achieved its target of reducing CO2 emissions by 25% earlier than planned.
The new target is not only for rail transport but also for DB's logistics services. CEO Mehdorn hopes that politics will support the company in its quest.
In 2007 DB produced 23mn tonnes of CO2.
